Content, Consistency and Optimization

Content is everything. It is what you put out to the world in hopes that you make an impact on readers, customers or clients. Having quality content for social media is an important investment when it comes to marketing. Quality photography and video can make or break your business on social media. It is so important because social media sites are a visual platform. Articles with an image once every 75-100 words got double the number of social shares than articles with fewer images. On the other hand, there is a time and place for personalized and authentic posts but how often depends on your business and branding. That’s where Madak comes in. As experts in social media and branding, we create a strategy that fits your business and optimizes your marketing budget.

Consistency matters. Having a consistent social media schedule is important for legitimizing your brand and for keeping track of what works for your business. Most major social media platforms provide analytics for businesses but what information they provide is different on every platform. To get the most out of your social media analytics you should post consistently on all platforms. Another important part of consistency is posting the same thing across all platforms. I often see small businesses focus strongly on Facebook. It is important to stay active and consistent across all the social media platforms that your business is using. There are many ways to make posting across all platforms easier for you. I always ask for square images and videos. I do this so that the content will be formatted for Instagram. Facebook and Twitter have less guidelines compared to Instagram so to make things easier for myself, I make sure to format for Instagram as much as possible.

Optimization is your reach. Increase your reach by using hashtags, locations and tagging. Posts tagged with another user (56%) or location (79%) have significantly higher engagement rates (Source: Simply Measured). Adding 20 general hashtags to the bottom of your post on the caption of your Instagram post for your business will boost your reach which has many benefits. It’s important to know how to properly optimize your posts. There are formulas that you can learn by reaching out to Madak, a social media savvy friend, or utilizing Google.
